I went on a quest with one of my adventuring buddies. I was on a quest to find 2 Lines of Beauty and 2 Balance Shots. I don’t know yet if I have found them, but my buddy was documenting.

We ventured into the great unknown, which I once visited long ago:

Andrew needed to climb, so I took this shot with my camera:

Which one wins?

One says do this, the other says do that, and you don’t know which one to do. Do you listen to the one that holds your desires? Or the one that holds your feelings?

Do I live in the wealth that has been God given to me? Have a job, own a house, marry, raise a family, grow old?

Or do I leave it all to give myself to God?

One is the hilt of a sword, the other is the tip. With one I can cause change in the world, the other makes the change in the world. The hilt gives movement and power to the tip, but without the tip, a sword is useless. A tip by itself is nothing more than a sharp piece of metal that no one can use.

A kite and the string. Each one is useless by itself.

Is success in our culture equated with excess? Then to be set apart, must we equate success with dearth? Or is that still just being the same? Are we called to be the otherside of the coin as the world around us? Or maybe success shouldn’t be excess, it shouldn’t be dearth, but sufficiency?

Ecclesiastes 2:26
To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

Deuteronomy 8:17-19
You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today. Romans 11:29
For God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable.

Matthew 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

And I just listened to some music that hasn’t been released yet. Now it is Brian Johnson. Crazy.

My year’s work is coming to finished. That is all I can say. I am excited, nervous, and relieved.

I am going to give 24 another go, and I am still working on naming all my china pictures for upload.

My class blew my mind.
